March 2023

Updated: Apr 15, 2023

Hello VCO!

Happy March Everyone! We're well over the hump and spring is just around the corner! I'm sure you're all looking forward to summer, driving the Viper again, club events, and all your other fair weather activities. Read on to hear what your club directors have been busy planning this winter for a very exciting 2023 with Vipers and club friends!

VCO Drive for Charity

We're going to have a lot of fun while raising money for charity, and we can't think of a better way to have fun than making a difference in the lives of those who need our help. Plan to join us as various clubs and car enthusiasts come out to support these events...

  • May 13th, Exotic Car Day with Vipers in support of the James Fund at SickKids (note new date changed by organizer to May 27th)

  • June 4th, Classic and Exotic Car Show in support of Ronald McDonald House

  • July 15th, St. Catharine Horsepower Car Show in support of Juvenile Diabetes

Tires, Tires, Tires

Tire condition is the single most important maintenance item affecting your safety. But it seems like availability of tires for Vipers have been a perpetual problem...which they have! We're pleased to announce that things are looking up, with tires now produced to fit all Viper generations, models and years!

See our new VCO Tire Buying Guide for a complete listing of available tires and recommendations at https://www.viperclubofontario.com/clubprograms/vco-tire-buying-guides

New VCO Members

We're very pleased to welcome Dan & Carolyn Pesant from Kitchener and their 1994 black RT/10. We know you're going to really enjoy the club, and we look forward to meeting you both soon!

2023 Event Calendar

We've added more events recently, removed two monthly Hagerty C&C & Lunch dates to make room for other events, firmed up a couple of tentative dates, and added details to some event listings. Please check the calendar periodically for the most up-to-date event listings and information. https://www.viperclubofontario.com/events

Up-coming March & April Events

Check out these events on our calendar, plan to attend, RSVP...and we'll see you there!

  • Sunday March 19th, Axe Throwing event in Ottawa

  • Saturday March 25th, Lunch at Vivo Pizza & Pasta in Woodbridge

  • Saturday April 15, Lunch at Moxies Bar & Grill in Pickering

  • Saturday April 29th, ILR Performance Driving School & Lapping Day, Bowmanville

The ILR School typically sells out early so check the Event Calendar listing and follow instructions to register early. We also try to have some of our very experienced Viper drivers come out to help with our member's in-car instruction! (See link below)

Performance Driving Program

We've put together an incredible roster of opportunities for members to develop their performance driving skills, exercise and enjoy their Vipers capabilities responsibly, satisfy their need for speed, and have a lot of fun sharing the experience with other members!

Local Event Participation

As membership continues to expand throughout the GTA and as far away as Windsor and Ottawa, our Area Directors and others are planning local monthly events for all members to conveniently enjoy. We plan event dates and times that we hope will appeal to many, but sometimes few RSVPs are received by the RSVP deadline. If there are too few members, the event may need to be rescheduled or cancelled. So please support your local events by reviewing the Event Calendar, adding those you'd like to attend to your personal calendars, and RSVP before the deadline date. This would greatly assist the event planners. https://www.viperclubofontario.com/events

New Club Initiatives

Our club is focused on bringing together Ontario Viper owners, creating friendships and an enjoyable club experience, providing outstanding support for our Vipers, and becoming stronger supporters of local charities. These are some of the initiatives that we're currently pursuing...

  • Drive for Charity

  • Television Publicity

  • Expanded Social Media

  • Windshield Decals

  • New Style Name Badges

  • Performance Driving Program

  • Tire Buying Guide

Volunteers Requested

Our club is unique in many ways, from the large size of our membership, how we're spread out geographically, the huge Events Calendar of 50+ social and performance driving events, to having 9 Area Directors, we're apparently the only Viper club in North America to have held a Viper Show, and for many other reasons.

We're looking for members with time, interest and skills in areas like organization, special event planning, computer, website, graphic art, and social media to help in certain areas. Getting involved is very rewarding and also a great way to meet and get to know more of our members. Please contact Bruce to discuss.

We're pulling out all the stops, and here's some highlights that we can reveal...

2023 VCO Sponsors

March is sponsorship month, with 2022 sponsors renewing and new 2023 sponsors joining! If your business, or one you know of, might be interested in mutual club support, please contact Bruce to discuss this opportunity.

VCO Membership Renewal & Final Free Draw

All 2022 memberships expired in December and a few folks have not renewed yet.

You won't want to miss any of our 2023 events, or your chance to win your membership for free in our 3rd and final free draw to be held March 25th at our Woodbridge lunch event! You don't need to be present, but you need to be a renewed 2023 member to win!

We ask you to kindly take a moment to do that now. It's quick and easy to renew with a $125 e-transfer to vcotracks@gmail.com and you're done! Winners dues are refunded.

Club Secretary Announcement

The club's Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Area Director Jackie Simpson has been elected club Secretary, which is an officer position on our Board. Jackie & Doug have been active members of our club since 2013, and Jackie became a director in 2o21. Jackie will also continue in her role as Niagara Area Director, and we thank her for taking on these important roles.

2023 VCO Board of Directors

You all know how active and progressive our club is, and that's only made possible from the efforts and dedication of our volunteer Board members. We hold regular meetings and frequent calls, texts and email communications in-between them. Decisions are discussed and made as a group. It's a privilege to work with your 2023 Board members listed with their roles here... https://www.viperclubofontario.com/boardofdirectors

On behalf of your directors,

Bruce Hadfield
