October '22...Fall Fling!

Updated: Sep 30, 2022

Hello VCO Members,

By October you'd think we'd be finished doing events, not looking forward to doing 6 or 7 more! Perhaps we're over-compensating from holding back in 2020 and 2021, but we certainly have been having a great time in 2022!

October Fall Fling!

We're kicking off October with a Haliburton Fall Colours Cruise on the 1st, a JRP "Speed Therapy" day at Toronto Motorsports Park on the 7th that everyone can enjoy regardless of driving skill level, and 4 End of Season meal events on the 15th located from East to West so as many can participate as possible! These events will feature free draws, present 2022 Event Participation Awards to those members whose enthusiasm was outstanding...and the club will cover the cost of one meal per membership! See our Events Calendar for details & to RSVP at https://www.viperclubofontario.com/events .

Sizzling September!

September was hot with a 13-Viper club exhibit day at Drive Festival, ONVE2022-Niagara Fall's 4-Days of fun, an Ian Law Performance Driving Performance Driving School & JRP "Speed Therapy" Lapping Days where we learned and honed our car control skills!

Sponsor Support is HUGE!

We thank JRP, Ontario Chrysler, Raceway Chrysler and RSP Motorsports for their support of our Track Program at the JRP "Speed Therapy" days, Grand Bend, and the Ian law School & Lapping days. Below, JRP's Derek Johnston presenting a track rebate cheque to Ali Khan (from left, VCO track rats Mardig S, Bruce H, Ali, Derek, Angelo D, and Mike C!)

Our 4 Chrysler dealer sponsors, including Islington and Wellington Chrysler, sponsored ONVE2022-Niagara Falls, and our other sponsors are all supporting our up-coming End of Season events! Let's support them at https://www.viperclubofontario.com/sponsors

Outstanding Contribution Award Winners

This year we recognize 2 members for their outstanding contribution to the VCO with "Member Appreciation - Outstanding Contribution 2022" awards presented at ONVE2022.

John Wach is a long-time member, a past club director, and the planner of both the multi-day ONVE 2021-Windsor and ONVE2022-Niagara Falls events.

ONVE is our club's major annual signature club event, and they are very challenging to plan. ONVE2022 was spread over 4 days, and involved planning meals and reservations at 5 different restaurants, the purchase of Niagara Parks admission passes, reservations at several attractions, and a Viper cruise with a photo shoot at a Peller Estates Winery!

We thank John for planning these, and for his outstanding contribution!

Jay Tanti has been a VCO member for 18 years, a director for 11, with the last 2 as our Membership Director. Jay has had experience with several car clubs over the last 40 years, and his knowledge and dedication has benefited ours in countless ways. As Membership Director, Jay played a key role in our club's successful growth strategies, navigating the challenging relationship with the Viper Owners Association following its financial crisis, and guiding our club forward. We thank Jay for his many years of outstanding contributions!

New Member Feedback

Last month we welcomed Dan de Vries, and this is his note after attending his 1st event...

"Hi Bruce. Just wanted to send you a short message to say that Andrew and I had an awesome time at the Niagara Falls event over the weekend. Was cool to see all the cars. Fun doing the events but the best thing was meeting the members that where at the event. And I am looking forward to meeting more of the group at another event. I expect to attend many of the meets over time and building close friendships. Thanks Bruce. I appreciate the hard work you have done with help from others to make this such a successful event. Please feel free to give my contact information to anyone that would like it. Again, thanks Bruce and please pass on my thanks to everyone that attend

Dan de Vries". (Dan pictured in foreground center, Andrew foreground left)

We appreciate your kind words and it was a pleasure meeting and having a great time with you, your son, and the fun group that attended! Stay tuned for more fun to come!

Website Gallery Page

We're behind in posting all of our events & photos on the Gallery page, but we've been assembling 100's from many more events that will be added over the next couple of days. Please check them out soon at https://www.viperclubofontario.com/gallery

VCO Membership Plans

Our new VCO Direct 2022 membership has dramatically improved our club's funding, and combined with our sponsor's generous support, provided excellent membership benefits and value that far exceeded the $125 annual dues. It was an unusually busy year for some, but we hope to see all out next year to enjoy the benefits of club membership!

All VCO Direct memberships are for the year ending Dec 31st, with all renewals now paid directly to the Viper Club of Ontario. VCO Direct 2023 membership dues remain the same at $125 CDN, with 100% of dues used to fund 2023 club events and membership benefits.

VCO Direct members are welcome to also be members of the VOA. I hope to encourage lower VOA 2023 dues for any interested Canadian members over the coming months. The printed Viper Quarterly magazine is available to everyone as a paid subscription.

We plan to continue our club's strong growth in 2023 and beyond, and to encourage relationships with other Viper Clubs for the benefit of our members and all Viper owners. We'll also develop friendships with other car clubs like we've done with the Ferrari club, and have recently started to do with the Corvette Club of Ontario. Our future is exciting!

Winter Viper Storage

Please let me know if you have or know of any available winter storage spaces...or if you're looking for storage space!

Market Place

Don't forget to check out our Market Place if you're looking to buy or sell a Viper!

Florida Winter Meets

Quite a few members will be vacationing in Florida this winter. If you might like to meet up with others just shoot me an email with the dates and areas you'll be in and we'll see if we can plan something fun...and maybe even with some Florida club members!

Final thoughts

Our Fall Colours Haliburton Cruise is this Saturday October 1st. We can accommodate everyone last minute so check out the listing on the Events Calendar and let me know if we can count you in for some very scenic cruising and touring.

Don't miss our End of Season Lunch & Dinners planned from east to west on October 15th, with free draws and Participation Award presentations! And please RSVP so we make our reservations! https://www.viperclubofontario.com/events
