Aug 8th, Lunch at Villa Caledon Inn, Caledon East. VCO 2021 Event #12!
This was such a perfect setting for a wonderful lunch with club friends. The day was hot but the members, Vipers and drinks were all very cool, and the meal was excellent! This restaurant is surrounded by beautiful gardens and I'm sure we can all highly recommend it. It was great to see local resident and member David Frost out in his stunning red Gen 2 GTS. Our events are purposely spread out across Southern Ontario to give everyone ease of attending. Special thanks to our club treasurer, Nick Sawrantschuk, for organizing and sponsoring it through his firm, S&W LLP Chartered Professional Accountant!
Aug. 12th, Patio Dinner in Keswick on Lake Simcoe. Event #13!
The Beach Lakefront Bar & Grill overlooks Lake Simcoe and offers such a great meal and scenic setting! We're able to park our Vipers on the lawn out front for safety and great photos. The best part of every event is seeing old friends, meeting new members, and meeting their significant others where they discover our events are great fun for them as well! Special thanks to our technical director, Garrett Nalepka, for organizing this event, and to Raceway Chrysler for sponsoring it!
Aug. 14th, RSP Motorsports, Lunch, Viper Cruise to Grand Bend and beyond. Event #14!
What a day this was, starting with our 2nd visit this summer to the hugely impressive RSP Motorsports! We held a draw at our 1st day here for a free dyno session on this second day, and Isif Ibrahima was the lucky draw winner. You'll see his beautiful Stryker Green Gen V being tested on the dyno for engine power. RSP performs a very wide range of automotive services for those living in the London, Windsor and surrounding area, ranging from all maintenance and repairs, alignment, tuning, dyno testing, detailing, paint protection film and ceramic coating installation....and they'll even build you a replica Porsche 508 Spider race car (of James Dean fame), a 508 4 seat Speedster, or a stunning 905 GTS!
We then enjoyed lunch at Hillside Restaurant, and then off on our Viper Cruise to the bustling Grand Bend, Goderich, Blyth where we visited Cowbell Brewery, and then to Stratford for a nice dinner. Special thanks to Renato and his staff at RSP Motorsports for sponsoring their event and lunch, and to member Jamie Herrington for planning this exceptional cruise!
Aug. 20th, JRP “Speed Therapy” Track day
It was a hot day but the several Vipers ran and looked very cool ! JRP provided in-car instruction for all novice and intermediate level drivers, and they're available to others as well.
We took a Gen V group photo of 4 ACR Extremes and 1 TA with their hoods up. Together these 2 models set 14 US race track records! We have many other members with ACR Extremes and TAs, and it would be great to get them all out on the same day for a group photo, along with our members in their Gen 1-4's! That many local ACR Extremes at a club track at the same time would likely be another record! Maybe that will happen at the next JRP track day on Sept. 30th!
Special thanks to Derek Johnston and JRP for sponsoring the 4 JRP "Speed Therapy" track days at Mosport this year, including the next one on Sept 30th. Derek just purchased his own ACR-Extreme and we look forward to seeing him bring that car our on the 30th, and becoming a club member in a addition to being a club sponsor now that he owns one! It was also great to meet new member Angelo D. who also recently purchased an ACR-E that we'll hopefully also see on the 30th.
Aug. 21st, Rice Lake Loop and Peterborough Lunch Cruise
This was another awesome day with great friends and Vipers. Jason Willis, our club director in Eastern Ontario, planned a really interesting and fun cruise route around Rice Lake, starting in Coburg and ending at the Ashburnham Ale House in Peterborough. We had a really nice meal, enjoyed meeting old and new friends, including Justin and Meghan Black who have now joined our club! Special thanks to Jason's Kingston Honda for sponsoring the event!
We're very sorry that a couple of other event's were rained out this month... Jay T's & Islington Chrysler's Aug 1st Cars, Coffee and Campbellville Cruise, and Paul Brocca's & Islington Chrysler's Aug 29th Muskoka Cruise.
We need your help with RSVP’s folks
We love planning events for our members but many don’t realize how difficult it is to organize and make final event plans when we don’t know in advance how many people are coming that need seating for meals, and how many cars we need to arrange space for parking. A cruise with 7-9 cars can be led by one leader and one tail car, but a cruise with more generally requires a second leader and tail car that also knows the exact route.
We know there are times when you just don’t know in advance if you’ll be able to attend an event, perhaps due to chance of rain. That’s understandable, and we wouldn’t want you to not join us on short notice for that reason, but please do try to RSVP a few days in advance whenever you can. Not to worry, we'll postpone an event due to rain and notify all those who have RSVP'd. Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
Why not go through our Events Calendar page, RSVP now for all the events you'd like to attend, and put them in your calendar! We hope every member will come out and enjoy our events...we have something for everyone, and probably several!
Welcome New Members
Please join us in welcoming Ron Kostka from north Durham, and Jean-Pierre Siouti from Ottawa. It’s a great pleasure to have you both join our club and we look forward to sharing some good times with you!
Ron joined us for our annual BBQ. You can see photos of his incredibly rare 1998 Gen 2 in Lemans livery from our July 24th event in our Gallery, and Jean-Pierre has a beautiful red 2015 Gen V.
Welcome gentlemen!
