Drive for Charity 2023
We'll be sharing our Vipers and great club spirit to support some very worthwhile charities in 2023...and getting involved has never been so much fun or easier!
We have 3 charity events on our Events Calendar now...
May 13th, "Exotic Car Ride & Show" in support of the James Fund at SickKids
June 4th, "Cool Cars for Kids" in support of Ronald McDonald House
July 15th, St. Catharine Car Show in support of Juvenile Diabetes
Event details will be added here when available. Each will be promoted within our club and others like the Ferrari and Corvette clubs, and we're expecting to have them all broadly publicized on a television station as well.
May 13, 2023 - "ILR Exotic Car Ride & Show", Brampton, Ont.
Our club has participated in this event in the past, and in fact, Ian Law says our Vipers were the inspiration for it! The event is basically an autocross slalom course set up in a large parking lot using orange cones to mark out the course for drivers to follow with their passengers who have donated to the charity for the thrill of riding in your Viper!
Drivers have the morning to acquaint themselves and practice on the course before taking their donor passengers around starting a noon. If you've never done an autocross, it's a lot of fun, and very rewarding as you improve your car control skills doing it!
If you'd rather participate in the car show, you can do that instead. All proceeds go to SickKids, and we're hoping many of our members will join us in this great cause!

Cool Cars 4 Kids
McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario
June 4th, 2023 – 8 am to 4 pm (gates open at 7:30)
Cool Cars 4 Kids is a family friendly event that will provide a memorable experience for seriously ill or injured children and their families, who are clients of Ronald McDonald House South Central Ontario (RMH) and McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH). We are also looking to raise funds and increase awareness of RMH and MCH through associated media, ie. CHCH Tv, radio stations and print media.
Cool Cars Kids Rally
There will be two components to Cool Cars 4 Kids. The Cool Car Rally which is to provide rides through Dundas for the patients and families (Guests) in some cool exotic and collectable cars. Our intent is to provide an exciting event for these families and a bit of a distraction from the circumstances that they are going through.
On June 4th, 2023, starting at 9 am, teams of 8 cars will leave McMaster every 15 minutes to complete the 20-minute drive through Dundas. All three levels of Police (Hamilton Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police), along with several Fire Departments, are involved in this good news story. A marked Police or Fire vehicle, with Guest, will lead each team on their drive through Dundas and back to McMaster, creating meaningful moments and memories.
Car Show
The proposed second Component will be a full-blown car show consisting of 500 to 1000 cars located on the McMaster property bordering Cootes Drive, where cool cars, including McMaster’s solar, battery operated and Baha rally vehicles, along with antique fire trucks and police vehicles will be on display. Food (provided by the local service club), a band, and other activities will round out the event. Spectator parking will be accommodated in the lower parking lots at McMaster.
The gates open at 7:30 am, with food available at 8:00 am, with the show winding down at 4:00 pm.
The objective is to provide a first-class car catering not only our Guests and participants, but the many spectators in attendance. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness for the 3 great assets (RMH, MCH and Pediatric research at McMaster University) that service patients from all over Ontario.
It is our intention to conduct an Online 50/50 Raffle that will be promoted in May, through the strategic use of conventional and social media.
